3D printing is one of the common themes of Xataka Smart Home. In fact soon we will have the opportunity to try another 3D printer. And the truth is that new generations of 3D printing become innovating and improving many aspects regarding the initial models. Now it’s the turn of Formlabs, who more than one year ago had its 3D Form 1 + printer, which in turn had only minor improvements compared to the model Form 1. And now presents the new Form 2, a 3D printer of resin that has much to offer.
The Form 2 is a resin as well as its predecessors, printer and allows you to print larger size objects (up to 145 × 145 × 175 mm), and has a 50% more powerful laser (250 mW) to get prints higher resolution (25-200 microns). It’s a closed printer, since as it stabilizes the temperature and prevents the workpiece distorted by the change in temperature and cracking. To me has already happened on occasion, but it was open Printers and printing for plastic extrusion.
The only downside is that its price is high if we compare it with other 3D printers, and not so much if it’s resin printers. We’re talking 3.499 dollars, so probably you will find his place in professional environments. But if you had any previous models you make a discount that comes to $600 if you financiasteis your first version on Kickstarter.
Another one of my wishes is the possibility of print, pause, and then continue printing without any problem, something we can do with the printers of resin (and not so much with 3D printers traditional if we are very demanding with the result). With the Form 2 it is possible to do.
Of course I do not know you, but I love to its exterior design. Now that the holidays are just around the corner, of course this printer go to my list. Wish that it is not.
